Upson Company has a long standing tradition of promoting from within. We have also
always emphasized quality workmanship performed by trained professionals. With these
two key factors in mind, in-house training programs have been developed to standardize
the training process and to help our employees map out a career path to success.
Apprenticeship Training
Upon completion of the 90-day probationary period, employees
are eligible to apply to the apprenticeship program. This program combines job-site
training, classroom training, self-administered coursework & testing, and hours
requirements which gives each employee the chance to advance through 4 apprenticeship
levels and ultimately achieve journeyman status.
CAP or Career Advancement Program
The goal of this program is to develop foremen for the future. Existing employees
of journeyman status may apply for CAP and will undergo classroom training, on-the-job
training, and job-shadow with members of the management team to gain a deeper understanding
